Security has wider meaning but I will like to bring in the discussion only one aspect of it.
Security is a major concern in everybody’s. There is no person without fear to his life and property, no door without lock(s), no institution without security devices and security personnel’s, no commercial software without security feature ..........Have we ever taken a second to think why it is required? Was it ever meant to be what it is?
Generation after generation, men and women (not calling human) have suffered from the psychological disease of acquiring a worldly material at the cost of other. A large percentage of human population is sick with the desire to obtain everything with ease. Very few of them really want to work hard to achieve the thing in the way they are meant to be. Most of us are busy taking short cut methods. In layman terms, we just want to live by "Copying or Stealing". It may be the theft of an idea, money, property, material, personnel information... and whatsoever. If we seriously think, most of us do fit into this category unless we are unwilling to think at all on our activities to give us a false consolence that we are not like this. If we exclude a hunger stricken society, this certainly reflects an illness of human being. In hunger stricken society, more often than not it comes from necessity but in well off society it comes from greed and human tendency to achieve something in the shortest possible way, without caring for others. (Can u get the irony? Human is a social animal but many of their activities are targeted towards breaking this very framework. If we do not care for other then why do we need a society?)
Have we ever imagined in the rarest of our dreams, what our civilization would have been without the concept of "Stealing or Theft". Yes, I can imagine. If people would not have been carrying this very disease then they would not have been required to carry the burden of security. We would have been spending resources to feed the empty stomachs rather then spending on making our systems more secure. Life would have been easier to manage without passwords and keys. No fear of loosing the keys and forgetting passwords. There would have been no patents and copyrights. There would been fewer cases in the courts. There would have been less hatred in the society. People would not have been spending sleepless night about safety of there hard earned wealth. We would have been more humane. We would have been happier than ever before. Our world would have been more beautiful than it is.
